The CEO of Tecno Mobile Ghana Mr Maxwell Techie pulled a little surprise on former Black Stars captain and African football icon Stephen Tornado Appiah by presenting him with a brand new Tecno Camon-15 mobile phone.
The guesture by Mr. Techie, who is also the Group Director of iMax Media, was in appreciation and acknowledgement of Stephen Appiah as a role model and public figure with exemplary service to the nation and leadership by example.
Appiah visited the iMax media headquarters, home of Tecno mobile, Max TV and Max FM during his appearance on the maiden edition of the Black Stars Classics (World Cup edition).
He was hosted by Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and in-house analyst Philip Sitso Atsrim.
The first episode of the programme aired on Thursday the 2nd of July with Appiah navigating viewers through his experiences from the 2006 and 2010 World Cup Finals as well as 2014 where he was a backroom staff of the Black Stars.
Receiving Appiah in his office alongside Sales Operations Manager, Devices at Mobile Zone Ltd., Ebenezer Amoako, Mr. Maxwell Techie said;
“We are proud of you and the leadership role you played for the Black Stars to rise in prominence between these years and this is just a token of our appreciation since you are in the house of Tecno.”
Appiah thanked Mr. Techie and assured him that he is looking forward to using the phone which is popular with Africa’s top sportsmen and women as well as international celebriries such as Nigerian music star Wizkid.
The first series of the Black Stars Classics would be exclusively aired on Max TV for 13 weeks every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30pm.
