GPL Week 33: Hearts of Oak crowned league champions

Accra Hearts of have been crowned Champions after a draw against Liberty Professionals.

Hearts needed Bechem United to beat Kotoko and that happened as the Porcupines lost 2-1.

Hearts begun the game on the front foot but Liberty Professionals were resolute and prevented the Phobians from penetrating.

Hearts eventually got the breakthrough on the stroke of half time as Daniel Afriyie Barnie headed in from a Salifu corner.

Hearts went into the break 1-0 and held on to the lead in the second half for larger parts.

Liberty in the dying embers got the equalizer through Paul Kwame.

The game ended 1-1 but Hearts have won the league with 1 game to spare.
