Black Meteors lose 4th friendly game on Asia tour

The Black Meteors have suffered another defeat to South Korea in the second friendly match between the two sides on Tuesday.

The Koreans beat Ghana 2-1 in the final warm-up game at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.

The Asians who are preparing for the Olympic Games football tournament in Tokyo next month scored in each half sandwiched between Osman Bukari’s strike to record a 2-1 win over coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side.

Although Ghana gave them a strong opposition compared to the first game, they were still no match for them.

Freiburg’s midfielder Jeong Woo-Yeong put the hosts ahead 4 minutes to halftime.

The Meteors after the recess drew level courtesy Joselpho Barnes in the 51st minute.

Osman Buraki latched unto a through ball and rounded the goalkeeper before squaring the ball to Joselpho Barnes who place it into the net.

The Asians however restored their advantage 13 minutes later after Dong-Jun Lee fired a shot past goalkeeper William Esso.

Ghana, later on, were reduced to 10-men after Legon Cities attacker Jonah Attuquaye was given the marching orders.

Today’s defeat comes after the Black Meteors suffered an earlier 3-1 defeat to the Olympic side on Saturday morning.

In all the Black Meteors lost all 4 of their friendlies against Japan and South Korea, shipping 15 goals and scoring 2.
